It's the little things, the little moments. They may not shout from the rooftops, but they do bring lots of happiness. And happy hearts are magnificent to behold! Because happiness doesn't stay inside, it overflows onto our face where we share it with everyone around us. I hope you have a wonderfully moment-filled Sunday! :)
*note: I have a fantastic cover reveal tomorrow, so be sure to visit again!
Oh, bless Jesus, Kara, yes!
ReplyDeleteWhat a very sweet post! Warms my heart. I think I'd enjoy the little things you mentioned here too! (More and more convinced you we have plenty of things in common :) I really like all of this. Everything you've written. And I'm glad that you're finding happiness in life. In little things. So very important. It enriches life and a lot of time it's though the little things that the wonder, the awesomeness and the Grace of God manifests.
The Lord bless you dearest. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you, Ganise! I'm becoming quite convinced that we have plenty of things in common also. Yay for kindred spirits! :D
DeleteThe wonder and awesomeness of God is everywhere. We just need to remember to look for it. And remember that there is much to happy about, no matter our circumstances.
Thanks so much for reading! Our conversation inspired me. :)
This is lovely! Reminds me of the movie Up, when Russell tells Carl that it's the "boring stuff" - the little things - that he remembers most, like sitting on the curb with his dad, eating ice cream and counting red and blue cars. (Oh, that movie is so sweet! Makes me cry so much.)
ReplyDeleteI love the moments you shared, along with the pictures! I totally concur. :) By the way, Northanger Abbey, while the only Jane Austen book I've read so far, is great! I love the PBS Masterpiece movie (Henry Tilney's smile = *swoon*), and the book was enjoyable, too. :) I think you'll really like it if you loved Edenbrooke, as that hero reminded me a bit of Tilney. Love a hero with a sense of humor!
And that last line of your post makes me so happy! *hugs*
~Amber
Amber, that is an excellent movie! And that scene is so precious. About makes me cry too.
DeleteI've been a little scared to read Northanger Abbey because of the adaptation from the 80s which I did not like, and because I do like the PBS version but heard it's different from the book. So I've been very hesitant. But I got convinced last week to try it. So thanks for more encouragement! Now I'm definitely wanting to read it sometime. Especially with Edenbrooke comparisons! Hero's with a sense of humor are a favorite of mine too. :D
You know I had to mention it. So excited for you! (I realize I keep saying that over and over. But it's true!! ;)
This is delightful, Kara. The little things (or simple joys in life) are often the most important or best things about life. They are the "breaks" we take from the harder choices or tasks we encounter every day. Much as I love the small things, I often forget about them. Thanks for this wonderful post!
ReplyDeleteOooh! Both of those miniseries/movies are good. Hope you enjoy.
Thank you, Rissi. :) And yes, they are easy to forget or not notice. For me too! But I do feel they are important, especially when those harder choices and tasks get me down. When I can find beauty in something, however big or small, whatever hard task may be before me seems much easier to bear.
DeleteI really liked Bleak House! I started it first since I'd borrowed it from the library. It was delightful. Well, as delightful as a gritty Dickens story can be. Esther Summerson really shone a beautiful light! She was a shining light to everyone around her. Such a wonderful character. Now on to Call the Midwife! You know. When I have time to marathon it, because I've a feeling I won't want to stop watching once I start. :D
:) Those are great moments to remember! I started a list of things to remember with my boy that I will post on his birthday.
ReplyDeleteNice to visit you today! Hope you are well.
Bethany
Thank you, Bethany! For stopping by and for your kind words. Looking for the beauty in the small moments of my day really helps keep me going. Especially on the days that the big stuff isn't so fun.
DeleteI love that idea! I shall look forward to that post. :) I am doing very well. And I really hope things are getting easier for you. I think of you often.
How did you like Call the Midwife?? I'm hoping to get Season 2 soonish. :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't gotten to it yet, if you can believe that, Kellie. I've been wanting it for so long, now I have it, and I still haven't watched it yet! How does that make any sense, right? ;) But I watched Bleak House first as I had to return it to the library. Hope to get to Call the Midwife by this weekend. You know, when I'll have time to marathon it. I've a feeling once I start it, I won't want to stop watching! ;D
DeleteIf only I'd known you been wanting it - you could have so borrowed mine!! :D I just found out that Doctor Who S7 is FREE on Amazon Prime and I have my Prime trial still sitting there waiting for JUST the right moment to be activated. So, there may just be a marathon in my near future, too! :D
DeleteEnjoy Call the Midwife! I really enjoyed it, although the 5th episode as a slightly disturbing story-line. You'll know it when you see it. The Christmas special was also quite good and now I can't wait to get my hands on S2!
I hadn't even thought about trying to borrow it from someone! (Totally should have though. I just had a friend ask to borrow mine once I'm finished. ;) I haven't tried Doctor Who. I keep seeing everyone exclaim over it, and I do believe them, but simply haven't decided to plunge in just yet. Maybe someday though! I hope you enjoy S7. :)
DeleteBut marathons are fun! Especially if you can watch with a friend. That's how I did with Bleak House anyway.
Thanks for the heads up. I've seen others mention stuff about how it gets a little graphic or what-have-you. We'll see what I think. :)
Those pastries look amazing!
ReplyDeleteOh, they are, Juju! They really are. Mmmmmmm. :D
