"The man that I named The Giver passed along to the boy, knowledge, history, memories, color, pain, laughter, love, and truth. Every time you place a book in the hands of a child, you do the same thing. It is very risky. But each time a child opens a book, he pushes open the gate that separates him from Elsewhere. It gives him freedom. Those are magnificent, wonderfully unsafe things."
~ Lois Lowry

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope all my American readers are having a lovely day full of family, food, and fun. And that everyone else is having a wonderful day as well! :)
Happy Thanksgiving, Kara; hope you and yours enjoy a bright, beautiful kind of day. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Rissi! It was a pretty quiet day. I didn't even eat any turkey! As it was just mom, dad, and I, it seemed silly to fix a gigantic turkey for just three people. But quiet days are nice, especially when your with people you love. I hope your day was lovely as well! :)
DeleteLove this quote - so true and so good! Hope you had a fabulous Thanksgiving as well! :)
ReplyDeleteI so agree, Jamie. Which is why I just had to share it! :) And thank you. My day was quiet and simple and relaxing. Which was perfect! I hope you and your family had a lovely day too!
DeleteHope it was good day for you, Kara, and everyone. Wish I could have helped you all celebrate with all that good food! ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ganise! It was. Quiet and simple and perfect. I love relaxing days like that. And of course I can't forget the food! Since it was just mom, dad and I, we didn't have a huge feast, but I did have two slices of pumpkin pie. Plus pumpkin roll! And it was delicious. I wish you could have been there too! It would have been nice to spend the day with you. :) Hope you're having a lovely weekend!
DeleteAww. Thanks you sweet lady. It would have been lovely to spend the day with you too. Xx
