Bite-Sized Reviews :: Edition Sixteen

Well, I trust y'all had a lovely Thanksgiving. Mine was quiet, relaxing, and scrumptious! A delightful combination, wouldn't you agree? :) And now for more reviews! I realized I'd read three novellas that I hadn't reviewed yet, and since they're all short stories, I thought mini reviews would make the most sense. So! I surely hope you haven't gotten tired of all my reviews yet, because there's still more to come. :)

While You're Awake by Amber Stokes
So if you haven't figured out by now, Ms. Amber Stokes is one of my most favoritest writers! :D And this little novelette has risen to the top of my list. Based around the fairytale Sleeping Beauty, it's the cutest story of Ava and Keegan. Ava, unable to sleep because of her fear of the bees that are making themselves at home in her apartment, has let that fear completely overtake her life. When Keegan finds this out, his protective instincts kick in and what follows is a sweet story of these two finding more and more ways to be adorable together. ;) Trust me, if you have a need for a story that is guaranteed to make you grin, a hero who will make you swoon, and a heroine in need of reminding of how wonderful she is, this is the story for you! It's a quick and fun read that will make you wish for more when you reach the final page. And, considering what happened to cause Amber to create this story, most definitely worth your time! Read it! You won't be sorry. I promise. :)

The Perfect Arrangement by Katie Ganshert
I loved this story!!! From the adorable meet cute to every other interaction between Nate and Amelia, this story reminded me so much of You've Got Mail (one my favorite movies ever) in all the best ways. From their bantery emails, to when they finally have face to face contact, it's all sweet and fun and squee-worthy! Seriously, just thinking about this story makes me automatically grin. Nate and Amelia's chemistry comes through loud and clear, even in their emails back and forth. Watching them slowly fall in love with the other's words and thoughts is incredibly sweet and romantic. It allows for an honesty that they wouldn't have nearly as quickly, so that once they see each other in person the initial awkwardness is still there slightly, but much more muted. Which, considering Amelia's shyness, is the best thing for both of them. My one complaint? I still don't know what the 24 stands for! And I'm curious, Ms. Ganshert. At least You've Got Mail told us the answer! Humph. ;)

Love In the Details by Becky Wade
I have been a fan of Becky Wade's for several years now and couldn't wait to read this one. Short stories are perfect for a quick dose of happy when I need it! And this one most definitely delivered on the happy. :) I loved Holly and Josh's story. And I appreciated that I could feel their connection left over from their past. Their complicated emotions just about filled the air between them and watching as they spent time together again, unable to deny their chemistry was delightful! The fact that, try as they might, they couldn't keep away from each other just got me in the heart. These two have such history and know the other's flaws very well, but true love endures no matter the time, no matter the flaws, no matter the stubbornness. These two! They needed someone to hit them over the head so they'd stop being so silly. They're perfect for each other! They understood one another so well, and once they stopped being ridiculous, they realized how incredible it was that they got this second chance. But the journey to realizing this is swoony and adorable and well worth reading! So pick this one up as soon as you're able. It won't disappoint. :)
