Someone You Love

So I picked two someones I love for today's challenge. These are my grandparents and one of my favorite pictures of them. They're both gone now and I miss them dearly. Especially Granny. My Granddaddy passed away when I was still pretty young, sadly I don't have a great deal of memories of him. He suffered from polio when he was younger and all of my memories consist of him in a wheelchair or bedridden. But Granny; oh my, the memories I have of her! Love, kisses, hugs, open house, open heart, she was one of a kind. Always laughing and loving. She lived just down the hill (literally) from my parents, and my brothers and I had a well-trodden path through the woods, over the creek, and in her front door. Where we would most often find her sitting in her chair by the window, crocheting. (She crocheted a lot. I have an afghan that she crocheted just for me. She made one for each of her 25 grandchildren.) She'd sit in her chair crocheting until she got sleepy, then she'd put her project down, nap for a little, and when she woke up, pick up her project and keep on going. Her door was always open for all of her grandchildren (and anybody else too). No matter the time of day, she was usually home and so glad to have us visit. She was also known to send us home with some little trinket she had picked up somewhere, which was awesome to me. (Of course, my mother had other thoughts about those "treasures" Granny gave us. Most of them were just little stuff she'd find at garage sales that nobody else wanted. But I thought they were priceless!) Needless to say, I miss her smile and her sparkle and her warm hugs. And just talking to her. Her many, many years of wisdom and life, gave us many, many hours of conversation. I love you Granny! And miss you terribly. Looking forward to the day we can meet again in Heaven! :)

December Photo A Day Challenge: Everyday people all around the world look at the list, and take a photo according to the date. So on the 1st of December we’ll take a photo at 8 o’clock {am or pm, doesn’t matter}. So whatever you’re doing when the clock strikes 8 – take a photo. And then share it. Then upload it to Facebook {your own page, or my Facebook page}, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, your blog, Tumblr – where ever you please. If you’re sharing to Instagram or Twitter – use the hashtag #FMSphotoaday.

Toodle-loo kangaroos! I finished a book today (Yay! Finally!), but no time to review. That should hopefully be coming tomorrow, so be on the lookout. Happy Saturday!

  1. That's a great photo of your grandparents, and it's lovely that you have so many good memories of them, specially your Granny.

I still miss my Gran a lot, she has been gone 10 years but somethings you never forget, plus, I got this blanket she gave me when I was, like five, and I still use it on my bed :D
