Great representation for Susan May Warren. :)
ReplyDeleteI love her stories, so how could I not? Thanks Rissi! :)
DeleteYour "book in a strange place" reminds me of the episode of Friends where Joey explains that whenever he reads a really scary book, if it gets too scary, he puts it in the freezer. It's probably my favorite episode of a show that I admittedly only watched in reruns in college once in a while when I felt like watching TV and there was nothing better to watch. But that episode totally cracks me up :-)
ReplyDelete(It's called "The One Where Monica and Richard are Just Friends," but it should be called "The One Where Joey And Rachel Exchange Favorite Books")
I'll have to try and watch it someday, Hamlette. Sounds fun! :)
DeleteI had no ideas for that day, and so I just went with the first one that popped in my head. Silly, but ah well. ;) Never thought about putting it in the freezer. Do you suppose Joey was giving the scary book a time out? You know, like parents do with children? :D
He said he knew if it was in the freezer, he was safe. He gets Rachel to read it, and she gets him to read "Little Women." They get in a fight and start spoiling each other on the books, and his reaction when she announces, "Beth dies!" is just... I'm giggling at the memory.
DeleteHa! Now I really am curious to watch it! :)
DeleteAnd I'm considering asking my brother to loan it to me so I can see it again! Forgot to mention that IIRC the book Joey loans Rachel is "The Shining."
DeleteNo wonder he put in the freezer then! :D
